For years, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has been defined by the people around him – Tony Stark, the Avengers, even the multiverse. Brand New Day finally allows Peter Parker to carry the weight of his own story. It may take a little while to find its footing, but once it does, it delivers some of the franchise’s most inventive action, its most emotionally honest moments and a reminder that Spider-Man has always been at his best when the mask comes off.

The beautiful part is that Brand New Day doesn’t pitch Spider-Man against the backdrop of a world crisis or multiversal danger. Rather, it tells the story of a young man who has lost everything in the process of saving the same world. A perfect follow-up to an event film like Spider-Man: No Way Home, but also a nod to the current MCU timeline and the new Avengers.OnNo, this may not be the greatest Spider-Man film ever made. But it is undoubtedly one of the franchise’s most heartfelt entries. If you are someone who loves superhero films, it is only fair to enjoy this one on the big screen with your 3D glasses on.

So, all in all, I really liked Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It is a very good Spider-Man movie, but an even better Peter Parker movie, even if it doesn’t quite reach the heights of the first two films in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy or the Spider-Verse movies.More importantly, it brings back a sense of wonder that the Marvel Cinematic Universe had been gradually losing, something that Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four: First Steps had also begun to restore.Also, let’s have a lot more of DDC in the MCU, please!

On the whole, SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY proves that Spider-Man doesn’t need a multiverse to be marvellous. All he needs is a strong story, genuine emotion and a hero worth rooting for. Funny, heartfelt and packed with thrilling action, this is one of the most satisfying SPIDER-MAN films in years and a welcome reminder that sometimes the smallest stories leave the biggest impact. At the box office, the film is poised for a thunderous start and has all the ingredients to emerge as the biggest SPIDER-MAN hit ever.
