Influencer Avery Woods is facing a huge backlash for the controversial remarks she made during a podcast in which she had invited Harry Jowsey.

After a huge ruckus Woods promptly issued an apology but her apology did not assuage the feelings of the netizens who felt that it was more of a justification for her actions and she even deemed it fit to ask viewers to block her if they felt that it was not appropriate.

Avery Woods Sparks Backlash with Controversial Podcast Remarks

Influencer Avery Woods had invited Too Hot to Handle star Harry Jowsey to her podcast episode and the topic for the episode was love, sex, and online hate.

However, the episode did not end well with many viewers stating that Woods had Jowsey, who is known for his sexually liberated views feeling awkward and squirming in his seat with her comments and fantasies.

While talking to Too Hot To Handle star Harry Jowsey, Woods asked the former about his ideal type and later shared what she felt about women who quoted Bible verses in their Instagram bios.

Avery Woods said:

“Jesus is going to spank you, lady, if you keep it up. He’s gonna bend you over and f**k your a*s. Jesus is gonna go poop pirate on your a*s if you keep up this b*llsh*t. They deserve it. With no lube.”

Jowsey could not believe the words coming out of the mouth of Woods and laughed nervously in response.

Avery Woods’ comments did not augur well and a huge backlash tried to make amends by issuing an apology on TikTok

“This is one of those things where I never want to offend people and their beliefs. First of all, I just want to say, my podcast is a comedy podcast and there are jokes that I should not make that cross lines, and I made a joke that crossed a line.”

However what irked netizens was Woods’ justifications for her action and stated she opened the discussion on the subject because such women would send nasty and hate-filled messages.

Although Woods stated that her comments were uncalled for still she reminded me that her concept of sarcasm and comedy may not be the same as others. She even concluded by asking viewers to block her if they don’t like her content.

Netizens took to social media to deride Woods’ apology and labelled it as insincere.

One user wrote,

“She can’t even look at the camera nor does she even have anything to say. I feel like her apology wasn’t even an apology,”

Another netizen wrote,

“She’s so gross,”

The podcast was acquired by Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network.
