The latest viral video was first posted by a user named Jack Straw (@JackStr42679640X) on X on February 19, 2025, and loudly proclaimed the video as evidence of Obama’s fraudulent birth certificate being exposed to the world.
The fake viral news gained traction when U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene shared the post with the caption:
“Oohhh, this is great!!”
To give credence to the video on X, it also featured the Fox 10 News Channel logo.
In no time, the video went viral and raked in over 7 million views after being posted on February 20. The claims ignited a huge reaction and discussion on the internet.
The claims made in the viral video are false, and this has been confirmed via a clarification issued by X through its “Reader’s added context” section.
“Footage of the press conference held by the former sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona, is from 2016, not 2025, as is implied by posts on social media. The press conference was documented by local media on December 15, 2016.”
Incidentally, the press conference video was uploaded to the Fox 10 Phoenix YouTube channel on December 15, 2016. For the unversed, Joe Arpaio officiated as Sheriff from 1993 until standing for election in 2016, which he lost. He has not held any office since.
Obama had released a copy of his “Certification of Birth” from Hawaii during his presidential campaign. This fact was also confirmed by Dr. Chiyome Fukino, who was the director of the Hawaii Department of Health at the time. In a statement, he confirmed that the birth certificate was Obama’s original birth certificate in the department’s archives.
