BookTuber Daniel Greene is in the news for the wrong reasons. YouTuber Naomi King, has accused the former of sexual assault. King made these allegations in a viral video and she also revealed that Greene attempted to silence her with a cease-and-desist letter.
Fantasy News creator Daniel Greene is a prominent BookTubers on the YouTube platform and is known for reviewing and promoting books, his own book, personal writings and delivering Fantasy News Updates. Daniel Greene boasts over 500,000 subscribers and has been active on the video-sharing platform for many years.
In May 2023 Daniel Greene took a break from social media and announced on his community tab that he will be distancing himself from the channel and social media due to mental health issues. He also announced that there will not be regular updates forthcoming and thanked his fans for understanding.
It was during this period that Naomi King alleges that Daniel Greene sexually assaulted her. Later Greene’s lawyer sent a cease-and-desist letter. It is a 34-minute video, in which King opens and stated,
“Two years ago, YouTuber Daniel Greene threatened to wipe me off social media. So if I disappear, you’ll know who did it.”
In the video, she also read the cease-and-desist letter which stated that action will be taken against her and she will be blocked from all social media platforms.
King stated that she made a video and posted it on YouTube in June 2023. The video which was titled, ‘A Conversation about Manipulation, Consent and Assault,’ King revealed how she was sexually assaulted by Greene.
In the initial video, King had not named Greene directly and instead used the term a friend who turned out not to be a friend who assaulted her. In a later video, King detailed about the cease-and-desist letter which threatened her with legal action for spreading slander and defamation and asked her to take down her earlier video in 24 hours. King also clarified in the second video that she had never named Greene and refused to remove the content.
King also revealed that she had contacted Daniel Greene’s fiancée and told her about the assault to which Greene’s fiancée said that Greene was a lying, cheating piece of s**t.
King said that she was having problems with her drug use and was under the influence of drugs on the fateful day. She had asked Greene for coffee so that she could sober up and talk. However, Greene asked her to go to sleep and said that they would talk in the morning. Later in the night Greene arrived fully sober and pressured her into sexual acts they had previously agreed would not happen.
Daniel Greene responded to King’s allegation in a one-minute video, stating:
“Hello. My name is Daniel Greene. This is an important message in response to various false allegations made against me by Naomi King of alleged s*xual assault in a campaign launched on YouTube and more. Let me be clear. I had consensual s*x with Naomi King. Yes, it was an affair.”
