Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s strange attire while meeting US President Donald Trump became the talk of the town. Volodymyr Zelenskyy wore a black sweatshirt with the Ukrainian trident emblazoned on the front along with black slacks, and boots.

The Ukrainian President was considerably underdressed as compared to President Trump, who was impeccably dressed in his usual suit.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Suit Controversy

Volodymyr Zelenskyy was meeting to hammer a critical mineral agreement and also gain US military support against Russia. However, the meeting ended in acrimony and it is another story.

However, Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s suit gate has become the talking point in the town.

During his interaction with President Trump at the Oval Office, a member of the press, Brian Glenn, asked Volodymyr Zelenskyy about his casual attire and also asked him why he was not wearing a suit while visiting the highest executive of the USA.

When the reporter was asking the question, Vice President JD Vance could be seen laughing in the background.

To the question, Volodymyr Zelenskyy snapped back that he will wear a suit after the hostilities with Moscow had ended. Zelenskyy also caustically remarked that he would wear a suit like the reporter then or something even better.

This was not the first time that someone had commented on Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s attire. When he stepped out of his motorcade to visit President Trump, the latter had sarcastically remarked,

“You’re all dressed up today,”

The Trump – Volodymyr Zelenskyy meeting ended in acrimony and Trump could be heard talking in a loud voice to Zelenskyy. Trump also accused the Ukrainian President of being disrespectful while Volodymyr Zelenskyy retorted back and warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin is known for his broken promises. Post the heated exchange, Zelenskyy was asked to leave the White House.

Zelenskyy is known for his casual attire and is often seen wearing olive green crewnecks with cargo pants and combat boots in a bid to showcase to the world that his nation is in a state of war. He had worn similar attire for the reopening ceremony of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and his earlier meetings with President-elect Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.

Brian Glenn, who had questioned the Ukrainian President’s attire, is the Chief White House Correspondent for Real America’s Voice, a conservative media outlet.
