Delhi will hold its Assembly elections on February 5, and votes will be counted on February 8. These elections will decide 70 members of the Assembly. If you are voting for the first time, it is important to know the process so you can vote without any trouble.

Step-by-Step Guide to Voting

  1. Join the queue at the polling station and wait for your turn.
  2. A polling official will check your identity using your voter ID, Aadhaar, or another valid document.
  3. The official will announce your name to confirm your presence.
  4. Another official will put indelible ink on your left forefinger, give you a voter slip, and ask for your signature or thumb impression in the voter register.
  5. Submit your voter slip and show your inked finger for final verification.
  6. Go to the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) inside the booth.
  7. Find your chosen candidate’s symbol on the EVM and press the button.
  8. A red light and a beep sound will confirm your vote.
  9. Once done, you can leave the polling booth.
