Altercations between people are not only a preserve of the ordinary but are also common among the big and the famous.

Recently, social media saw a viral video showing Matt Sauerhoff, CEO of The LIV Method, involved in an ugly spat with his neighbor, celebrity chef Eddie Huang.

The subject of the spat was an unleashed dog at their Manhattan apartment building. The altercation is believed to have happened on Saturday evening in the lobby of The Copper Building in Midtown.

Eddie Huang is a well-known personality, and his memoir formed the storyline for the sitcom Fresh Off the Boat.

In an Instagram post, Huang detailed how the altercation with Sauerhoff began. Sauerhoff was accompanied by his unleashed pet dog, which caused Huang’s dog, a Doberman, to get frightened and fall off the bench.

Huang requested Sauerhoff to leash his dog, but his request fell on deaf ears. Sauerhoff not only refused to leash his pet but broke into a heated argument. The argument reached a feverish pitch until he started hurling expletives at Huang. He also accused Huang of being an outsider. The argument continued until Sauerhoff asked the doorman to remove Huang from the premises.

In another twist to the story, Huang said that he met Sauerhoff’s mother-in-law, who threatened him and said that her husband was a State Judge.

Huang posted two videos that showed Sauerhoff saying, “F**k off.”

The post by Huang was captioned, “Respect your neighbors, leash your dog.”

Huang also got support from social media, and one user wrote, “Love this. I live on the Strand in Manhattan Beach, and there are always people with dogs off leashes, playing with balls and running with their owners.”

Another user stated, “@mattsauerhoff has never been told no in his entire life and lost it when someone who he perceived as being below him told him he was in the wrong.”

A third user posted, “Read every word of the article; I’m sorry you guys are going through this, especially after your dog has been traumatized by being displaced as well.”

Huang, who hopes the dispute is now over, said he would prefer if Sauerhoff moved out to avoid further encounters.
